ABOUT PROGRAM

The Punjab Affordable Housing Program (PAHP), spearheaded by the Housing Urban Development and Public Health Engineering (HUD&PHE) Department, is a major initiative aimed at addressing critical housing challenges in the Punjab. Implemented through the Program Management and Implementation Unit (PMIU) and supported by Urban Sector Planning and Management Services (Pvt) Ltd (The Urban Unit) and PHATA as co-implementing agencies, the PAHP is set to tackle housing shortages, affordability issues, informal settlements, poor regulatory frameworks, and deteriorating infrastructure. By focusing on these areas, the program aims to create a more equitable and sustainable housing environment for the residents of Punjab.

In partnership with the World Bank, Punjab Government is committed to enhancing the quantity and quality of affordable housing. The World Bank's support enables the PAHP to fund development of new housing units, and to strengthen housing institutions and systems.

This collaborative effort aims not only to increase the supply of affordable housing but also to ensure that the housing provided is of high quality and sustainability- ultimately improving the living standards and well-being of the people of Punjab.
